About
Work Practice
These paper entomology artworks are made using paper pieces that have been individually cut and pinned into place. The coloured pieces are made from vintage hand marbled papers which date back as far as the late 19th Century. They were made by highly skilled craftsmen using pigments and techniques that have since been lost. The butterflies and insects with handwriting on have been cut from letters written during the 1880's. Some works also incorporate gold and silver leaf.
